Project description
The project consisted of the construction of a new block of 8nr apartments, 6nr 2 bed units and 2nr 1 bed units. The site was previously designated as a car park to the rear of 11-13 Albion Place, Maidstone.
The block is constructed from a mixture of brickwork and blockwork walls full height, a steel frame was installed with blockwork external walls constructed up to wall plate level to form the 2nr 1 bed apartments built over the access to the rear carpark. 200mm hollow core floor planks were installed between each floor. The roof structure to the main block is made up of attic trusses with the provision of the later installation of a 3rd floor 1 bed attic apartment.
The under croft roof is constructed from vaulted roof trusses, both roofs have Marley Eternit slates roof coverings with lead topped dormer roofs.
